New Netherlands & Spain Agreements
--- $6 Million

July 13, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Elephant Talk Communications,
Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ETAK), an international telecom and multimedia
content distributor, specializing in carrier grade mobile delivery platforms,
today announced revenue guidance pertaining to contracts recently signed
in the Netherlands and Spain. These agreements are expected to generate
revenues in excess of $6 million in the 2nd half of 2009 and over $24 million
in 2010. The contracts are a result of Elephant Talk's relationships with
Vizzavi Espana, a Vodafone Group Company, and T-Mobile Netherlands B.V
and represent a new revenue stream for the Company above the trailing
twelve months revenue of approximately $42 million.

KEY OPERATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Entered into a letter of intent to acquire controlling
interest in ValidSoft Limited. ValidSoft is an emerging global leader in
preventing electronic bank theft, credit card fraud, and identity theft.
- Through its proprietary software, ValidSoft provides
strong mobile authentication, transaction verification capabilities and
location based services. ValidSoft's software allows organizations to quickly
implement solutions that protect against the latest sophisticated fraud.
- The Company internally funded and implemented a state
of the art wireless and converging telephony services platform that enables
mobile phone companies to operate on its platform. These customers are
called Mobile Virtual Network Operators ("MVNO's") and represent a fast
growing segment of the telecom industry and differentiate themselves through
branding and client oriented applications such as pre-paid phone services
and specific content.
- Elephant Talk's wireless platform called a Mobile
Virtual Network Enabler ("MVNE") provides all the necessary lines, towers,
spectrum and software infrastructure to enable any company to enter the
cell phone service business on a turnkey basis. Our MVNE contract with
T-Mobile in the Netherlands became operational in September 2008; currently
2 rapidly growing MVNO's are active on our Dutch MVNE platform with at

Company, rewarded ETAK with a contract to manage their Spanish MVNE platform;

KEY FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS:
Comparison for fiscal year ended
December 31, 2008 versus December 31, 2007
- Revenue recorded was $44,359,007 and $47,361,028
for the years ended December 31, 2008 and 2007, respectively.
- The decrease in the revenue, is due to repositioning
the focus of the company more towards new mobile services. Revenue consisted
of fixed line telecommunications services such as premium rate, carrier
select, carrier pre-select, Freephone (toll free) and pre-paid calling
cards services provided to a wide range of customers.
- Cost of service was $43,336,111 and $45,608,557 for
the years ended December 31, 2008.
- Cost of service include origination, termination,
network and billing charges from telecommunications operators, out payment
costs to content and information providers, network costs, data centre
costs, facility cost of hosting network and equipment and cost in providing
resale arrangements with long distance service providers, cost of leasing
transmission facilities and international gateway switches for voice and
data transmission services.
- The Company recorded a net loss of $16.0 million
and $12.1 million for the year ended December 31, 2008 and 2007 respectively.
- The increase in net loss was primarily due to a significant
increase in Operational Expenditures for the development of the new Mobile
Services Platform of the company and an impairment charge of almost $ 4
million to intangible assets.
- Current liabilities decreased to $10.0 million from
$34.1 million compared with December 31, 2007.
- Current ratio of assets to liabilities improved from
.27 to 1 to .83 to 1 compared with December 31, 2007.
- Shareholders Equity improved from ($9.7) million
to $8.8 million for an improvement of $18.6 million compared with December

announced the completion of a Joint Venture agreement with ValidSoft Limited,

place for ten years.
Prominent European banks
have completed trials of the product and have reported that card fraud

Steven van der Velden, Chairman & CEO, has extensive
entrepreneurial experience in logistics, telecommunications, e-commerce
and investment management. He successfully started over a dozen companies.
Mr. van der Velden is involved in various ICT ventures throughout Europe,
North America, the Far East and Caribbean. He co-founded E-commerce Park
NV in Curacao, which developed a 50,000 sq.ft. data centre and Internet
hosting facility, the International Telemedia Association (known today
as Network for Online Commerce), and InTouch Telecom SA/NV, where he served
as CEO until the company was successfully sold to GTS in 1999. He earned
his MBA from Rotterdam School of Management and his Master's Degree in
Law from Leiden University.
Bruce B. Barren (Vice Chairman & Director)
Bruce Barren has personally been involved in more than
200 business turnarounds, representing more than $1 billion in annualized
payroll. He has been honored in California by various municipal and county

Martin Zuurbier (COO/CTO)
Martin Zuurbier, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical
Officer, has over 12 years of direct experience in the telecommunications
industry. He has been the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology
officer of Benoit Telecom Holding AG, a telecom service provider in Europe.
He served as director and founder of Vocalis Telecom Group located in The
Netherlands and Switzerland. Mr. Zuurbier was responsible for building,
maintaining and operating a telecommunications network spanning eight countries
in Europe including all back-office billing and CRM capabilities. He was
also instrumental in developing new switching technology.
Mark Nije (CFO)
Was general manager Europe 2007-2008, a function he held
since the end of 2004 within the acquired Benoit Telecom Group. Mr. Nije
has experience in project management, business development, investment
management, logistics and telecommunications, with primary responsibilities
in finance and business control. Mr. Nije started as project manager and
management consultant for Tebodin Consulting Engineers and Reitsma &
Wertheim Merger & Acquisition specialists, the Netherlands. In 1990
he co-founded Logistic Management International NV (LMI), an international
cargo transportation and airport handling company at the airport of Curacao,
Netherlands Antilles. During those years he served as a board member and
vice-chairman of the Curacao Exporters Association. From 2000-2002 Mr.
Nije was co-founder and director of PickYourGifts BV, an internet start-up.
In 2003 he became partner of QAT Investments SA, the Luxemburg venture
capital fund, where he has been active as investment manager and/or board
member in various ICT related ventures of QAT. Within the Benoit Telecom
Group, he was GM/CFO and specifically managed the various asset acquisitions
and audits. Mr. Nije earned his MBA with focus on Finance & Marketing
from the Rotterdam School of Management/Erasmus University, the Netherlands,
and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction Management from
the University of Reading, United Kingdom.
