The Earth Observation (EO) market is experiencing increasing satellite capacity.

In most satellite market segments, such as communication, navigation and astrometry, competition is very intense.

SAR satellites have the ability to provide all-weather, day-and-night imaging, which is a mission-critical capability for a variety of end-user applications. With SAR technology, it is possible, for example, to search for water springs in deserts, detect oil in the sea, analyze remote forests and measure the height of waves in an ocean.

Operational day or night in all weather conditions and SAR orbits are much closer to the Earth, requiring satellites to travel at a very high speed in order to avoid being pulled out of orbit by Earth’s gravity. At Low Equatorial Orbit, a satellite can circle the Earth in approximately one and a half hours, traveling at about 27,400 km/h (8 km/s), making one complete revolution around the Earth in about 90 minutes. Since it requires less energy to place a satellite into a LEO and the LEO satellite needs less powerful amplifiers for successful transmission, LEO is used for many communication and observation applications.

GUIDAR exploits the features of Ultra Wide Band (UWB) radar signals which are processed, detected, and classified by means of a complete and innovative digital signal processing (DSP) system. The ISC has an embedded Linux server that provides a web interface for controlling and managing the SmaX system. How it Works
The miPASS SA system is completely independent and is not networked to any access control panel and doesn’t require software. A user is added to the system by presenting a GREEN “Add User” card switching the reader’s mode into an enrolling state. During this mode, any mifare card, fingerprint or PIN that is presented to the relevant SA Series reader is enrolled into the system for 24 hour access. A RED “Delete users” card is used to delete ALL users from the system by simply placing the RED card to the reader.

Enrolled user records are stored in a Standalone Relay Module (SARM) connected to the SA Series reader, which is the heart of the standalone system. The SARM verifies the user and operates the electronic door lock and exit switches. The SARM has an optional output designed to disarm an alarm system when a valid user has gained access.

Most access control systems rely on the transfer of information through unsecured Wiegand lines to an access control panel from a front end reader, such as a smart card reader, biometric unit or a PIN (Personal Identification Number) terminal. Although the wiring itself is vulnerable to snooping and signal manipulation, the user’s sensitive data can be protected with digital encryption.

The increasing demand for single card solutions has contributed to the rapid growth of Mifare contactless smart card technology. With the addition of available applications such as access control, time & attendance, biometric template, digital photo, loyalty or club membership, cashless payments and ticketing systems, a card provides the user with a cost effective, enhanced alternative to conventional proximity cards, as well as a multi-purpose credential.

The miPASS Lite is an alternative to out-dated barcode or magstripe style tickets used today and is designed for single application usage such as electronic tickets in public transport, phone cards and entertainment ticketing systems. The miPASS Lite is read only and is designed for single use, although it can retain data for up to 5 years. 

HI-CO magstipe is general used for high security usage, such as banking. Where as LO-CO is commonly used for access control requirements.

Mr. Jean-Robert Martin,  President and Chairman of the Board Mr. Martin is a recognized authority with a distinguished 46 year career in defense and security related technology initiatives. Mr. Martin previously served as general manager of Thales SA defense activities – including airborne and space systems, land and joint systems, as well as naval systems and air defense. Mr. Martin also serves as a director of Thales Airborne Systems (a subsidiary of Thales SA), which is involved with optical components primarily sold in the United Kingdom, Germany and Singapore, and SIRA, a private French company involved with machining aerospace high technology mechanical assemblies. He is also a director of X-PM, a Paris-headquartered, private interim management company with primary operations in France and the People’s Republic of China.

Mr. Olivier de Vergnies,  Chief Executive Officer Mr. de Vergnies has previously served as Vice President, Head of the Middle East Division of Dexia Private Bank (Switzerland), Geneva from 2004-2008, where he was responsible for Middle Eastern high net worth individuals, business acquisition and  retention process, as well as the development of new financial structured products ideas and innovative private asset allocation.  From 2000-2004 Mr. de Vergnies served Dexia Bank, Luxembourg as Vice President, Head of Strategy & Alliances where he was responsible for the marketing strategy and product development for Middle East clients segments across Luxembourg, Switzerland, France, Jersey and the United Kingdom.  Mr. de Vergnies served as Global Strategic Coordinator for the Dexia Private Banking Group Executive Committee and managed the joint ventures optimization process with Banco Popular in Spain, multi-channel distribution, market watch process, international and internal communication.

Mr. Sullivan obtained his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business. Mr. Sullivan is also serving as the Company’s interim President and CEO.

Dr. Maggiora is an Associate Professor and member of Antenna and Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (LACE) at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy (“Polito”). Dr Maggiora has more than ten years of experience in designing and accomplishing the realization of a variety of radar and image processing systems.  Dr Maggiora is the inventor of patented technologies in the area of ground intrusion detection radar.

Prior to his role with Cassidy & Associates, he held senior management positions in the telecommunications industry, and was a pioneer in building PC-based telecommunication software and switches launching the first call back operation between North America and Europe. He has been heavily involved in the satellite, security and defense industry in Europe during the past decade.
